Article Processing Charge (APC) Policy for Help: Journal of Community Service (HJCS)

At Help: Journal of Community Service (HJCS), we believe in making high-quality research accessible to all members of the academic community, regardless of financial constraints. To support our commitment to open access publishing and cover the costs associated with manuscript processing, peer review, and publication, HJCS imposes a nominal Article Processing Charge (APC) of $10 USD or 160,000 Indonesian Rupiah per accepted manuscript.

We recognize that affordability is a critical factor for many researchers, particularly those from low- and middle-income countries, early-career scholars, and independent researchers. By keeping our APCs at a minimal level, we aim to ensure that cost is not a barrier to authors seeking to publish their work in HJCS.

The APC covers the expenses associated with editorial management, peer review coordination, typesetting, formatting, hosting, and indexing of accepted manuscripts. Our transparent pricing model reflects our commitment to financial sustainability while maintaining the highest standards of quality and integrity in the publication process.

Authors are required to pay the APC only upon acceptance of their manuscript for publication. Waivers or discounts may be available for authors who demonstrate financial need or are unable to cover the APC due to institutional or funding constraints. Requests for waivers or discounts will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and authors are encouraged to contact the editorial office for more information.

HJCS operates on a not-for-profit basis, and revenue generated from APCs is reinvested into the journal to support ongoing operations, infrastructure development, and initiatives aimed at improving the quality and reach of our publications. Our commitment to affordable open access publishing reflects our dedication to advancing scholarly communication and facilitating knowledge exchange in the field of community service.

We are committed to transparency and accountability in our APC policy and welcome feedback from authors, reviewers, and readers on how we can further improve accessibility and affordability in scholarly publishing.
