Help: Journal of Community Service (HJCS) invites scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to submit high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the discourse and practice of community service and development. The journal accepts original research articles, case studies, project reports, critical reflections, and reviews that align with our focus on community empowerment through four main methodologies: Participatory Action Research (PAR), Community-Based Research (CBR), Service Learning (SL), and Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD). Submissions should demonstrate relevance, academic rigor, and practical applicability to the field of community engagement.

Manuscripts must be written in clear and coherent English, using academic and professional tone. Authors are expected to provide a structured manuscript with the following components: Title, Abstract (150–300 words), Keywords (3–6 terms), Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References. The total length of the manuscript should be between 4,000–7,000 words, including tables, figures, and references. Abstracts should highlight the purpose, method, main findings, and significance of the work. All manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), using APA Style 7th edition for in-text citation and references.

Authors are encouraged to include contextual and reflective discussions on how their work impacts the community, especially regarding sustainability, local wisdom, and empowerment outcomes. Manuscripts that illustrate collaborative approaches, intersectoral engagement, or interdisciplinary research are particularly welcomed. The journal values both quantitative and qualitative approaches, including mixed methods, ethnographic work, or action-oriented frameworks. Authors must ensure that ethical standards are upheld, including informed consent and acknowledgment of community participation.

HJCS uses a double-blind peer review process. All submissions will be evaluated by at least two reviewers with expertise in the topic area. The editorial team may suggest revisions to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to the journal’s standards. Once accepted, articles will be copyedited, typeset, and published online. The journal does not charge any submission fees. However, a modest publication fee of IDR 300,000 applies to authors based in Indonesia, while international authors are exempt from this fee. Payment instructions will be provided after the acceptance notification.

All submissions must be made electronically via the journal's online submission system. Authors are required to use Mendeley as the reference management tool and to ensure that references are formatted correctly according to APA 7th style. Upon acceptance, authors must submit a signed Statement of Originality and confirm payment (if applicable) before the article is published.
