Withdrawal of Manuscript Policy

Involvement International Journal of Business (IIJB) recognizes that authors may, under certain circumstances, need to withdraw a manuscript from the editorial and peer-review process. To maintain fairness, transparency, and efficiency in scholarly publishing, authors are expected to follow the procedures outlined below.

1. General Withdrawal Principles

Authors may request the withdrawal of a manuscript before its publication by submitting a formal written request to the IIJB Editorial Office.

Withdrawal requests must be submitted by the corresponding author and should clearly state:

  • Manuscript title;

  • Manuscript ID or submission number;

  • Names of all authors;

  • Reason for withdrawal; and

  • Confirmation that all authors have agreed to the withdrawal.

The editorial office may request additional information or confirmation from the authors when necessary.

2. Withdrawal Before Peer Review

Authors may withdraw a manuscript before the peer-review process has begun by submitting a formal withdrawal request through the journal's designated communication channel.

Where the withdrawal request is reasonable and properly submitted, the editorial office will process the request without penalty.

3. Withdrawal During Peer Review

Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript while it is under peer review should provide a clear and legitimate reason.

Withdrawal during peer review may be considered when circumstances arise that materially affect the manuscript or the authors' ability to proceed with publication.

Authors should not withdraw a manuscript merely because the peer-review process has resulted in critical comments, requests for revision, or an unfavorable recommendation.

4. Withdrawal After Acceptance

Withdrawal after a manuscript has been accepted for publication should only be requested in exceptional circumstances.

The authors must provide a written explanation, and the request will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief.

If a manuscript has already entered production, typesetting, DOI registration, or other publication preparation stages, the journal may consider the resources already invested in processing the manuscript when assessing the withdrawal request.

5. Withdrawal After Publication

Once an article has been formally published and assigned a DOI, it becomes part of the permanent scholarly record.

A published article generally cannot be withdrawn in the ordinary sense.

If serious issues are discovered after publication, the journal may instead issue an appropriate editorial notice, such as a Correction, Retraction, or Expression of Concern, depending on the nature and severity of the issue.

Such actions will be taken in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and research integrity policies.

6. Acceptable Reasons for Withdrawal

A withdrawal request may be considered for legitimate reasons, including:

  • Serious errors discovered in the manuscript that cannot reasonably be corrected during revision;

  • Significant methodological or ethical problems identified after submission;

  • Discovery of substantial problems with the research data or analysis;

  • Authorship disputes that cannot be resolved promptly;

  • Unavoidable legal or ethical concerns;

  • Duplicate submission identified before publication;

  • Failure to obtain required ethical approval or permission;

  • Circumstances that materially affect the integrity or validity of the research; or

  • Other exceptional circumstances deemed reasonable by the Editor-in-Chief.

7. Withdrawal Due to Duplicate Submission

Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to IIJB and another journal.

If an author wishes to submit the manuscript elsewhere while it is still under consideration by IIJB, the author must first obtain confirmation that the manuscript has been formally withdrawn from IIJB.

Simultaneous submission or unauthorized withdrawal for the purpose of submitting to another journal may be considered a violation of publication ethics.

8. Withdrawal Due to Author Disagreement

If authors disagree about the decision to withdraw a manuscript, the journal may request written confirmation from all authors.

The journal will not normally process a withdrawal request involving a significant authorship dispute until the matter has been clarified or resolved.

Where necessary, the journal may refer the dispute to the relevant institution or organization for resolution.

9. Withdrawal Without Valid Reason

Authors are strongly encouraged to carefully consider their decision before submitting a withdrawal request.

Unjustified withdrawal after substantial editorial or peer-review work has been completed may disrupt the editorial process and unnecessarily consume the time and resources of editors and reviewers.

In cases of repeated or inappropriate withdrawal practices, IIJB may take reasonable measures in accordance with its publication policies.

10. Withdrawal Procedure

To request withdrawal, the corresponding author should send a formal withdrawal request to the IIJB Editorial Office containing the following information:

Subject: Manuscript Withdrawal Request – [Manuscript ID]

Manuscript Title: [Title]
Manuscript ID: [ID]
Corresponding Author: [Name]
Reason for Withdrawal: [Detailed explanation]
Author Confirmation: All authors have agreed to withdraw the manuscript.

The editorial office will acknowledge the request and inform the corresponding author once the withdrawal has been formally processed.

11. Editorial Authority

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Office of IIJB reserve the right to evaluate withdrawal requests on a case-by-case basis.

The journal's decision will take into account the stage of the publication process, the reason for withdrawal, the interests of all authors, the work already undertaken by editors and reviewers, and the need to protect the integrity of the scholarly publishing process.

12. Commitment to Ethical Publishing

The Involvement International Journal of Business (IIJB) is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and responsible publication process.

Authors are expected to communicate honestly with the editorial office and to respect the time and contributions of editors and reviewers. Withdrawal should be treated as a formal publication decision rather than a mechanism for avoiding legitimate peer-review feedback or editorial decisions.
